Dead or Alive is a free daily celebrity guessing game inspired by Wordle. Each day, you're presented with 10 famous people and must guess whether they're dead or alive.
It's a simple question with a surprisingly tricky answer. You might be shocked by who's still kicking and who has already shuffled off this mortal coil.
How to Play
- You'll see a celebrity's name, photo, and profession
- Click "Obituary" if you think they've passed away
- Click "Still in Print" if you think they're alive
- Try to get all 10 correct and build your streak
- Share your results with friends using the emoji grid

Like Wordle, everyone plays the same 10 celebrities each day. The puzzle resets at midnight UTC, so you can compare scores with friends around the world.

Our database includes over 2,000 notable people from all walks of life: actors, musicians, athletes, politicians, scientists, artists, writers, and more. The selection is balanced 50/50 between those who have passed and those still living.
Tips for Better Scores
- Pay attention to the profession - some fields have higher mortality rates
- Consider the era - someone born in 1920 is less likely to be alive
- Trust your gut - if you haven't heard news about someone recently, think about why
- Don't overthink it - sometimes the obvious answer is correct
